Leading the 2007 Grand Louisyam Parade on Sunday, October 28, 2007 at 1:00 PM will be Florella V. Inhern, a native of St. Landry Parish, according to Joe Robison, President of the Louisiana Yambilee.
Born and raised on a farm in the Prairie Rhonde community, where sweet potatoes were also one of the many crops grown, Florella was honored to be chosen to lead the 2007 Yambilee Parade. Florella is the daughter of the late Ferdinand and Cammie Vige
Florella is a graduate of Chataignier High School class of 1945 and LPN School of Nursing, working in that capacity for forty years. After retiring from nursing, she owned and operated Caercher Gift Shop for fifteen years. She has always been in involved in community and civic organizations and was a member of the Catholic Masses Association, Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church Council, Our Lady of Mercy Alter Society, and Floral and Church Decoration. Florella also enjoyed volunteering her time at the Opelousas Museum. Ms. Inhern has received several awards over the years such as the Bishop
